17th Essex - Brief History

The 17th Essex Battalion was formed in January 1917 when the existing 67 Provisional Battalion were renamed.

The Battalion remained at Weybourne camp near to Sherringham, Norfolk for the duration of the war as part of Western Command, 33rd Army Corps.
