Distinguished Conduct Medals awarded in Boer War 1899-1902

 

The Distinguished Conduct Medal ( DCM) was introduced in 1984 during the Crimean War for Warrant Officers and other Ranks to recognise distinguished, gallant and good conduct in the field. The medal was considered very important and only the Victoria Cross ranked more highly.
